Located at Beaver Lake Lodge – 12pm-3pm  All volunteers with less than 2 years of service are required to attend 1 day of orientation. Actor Training

October 7th and 8th - Beaver Lake Park

Actor training will be held from 11AM -3PM each day.  There will not be a lunch break, and there are no food services in the park.  Please bring a labeled water bottle (your fancy NIGHTMARE one, If you got one!) and snacks if you need them.  All actors with less than 3 years of acting (in our show) are required to attend at least 1 day of actor training.  All other actors are strongly encouraged to attend.  This is where you will find out about the roles we have available for 2017.  Training will be set specific.  Did I mention that ALL ACTORS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND?!   If enough interest at that time, there may be advanced training available from 3:30 – 4:30 each day.

Volunteer Information

Without our amazing volunteers Nightmare at Beaver Lake would have no way to accomplish our amazing mission. We are always on the lookout for dedicated and helpful individuals to add to the crew.

We are currently seeking volunteers in many areas including:

  • Acting
  • Security
  • Set design
  • Line control
  • Drivers
  • ... and MUCH MORE

All volunteer actors must be at least 12 years old. At age 12, we require that a parent or guardian must act on the same set with the child. At age 13, a parent or guardian must remain on the premises while the child is volunteering. Don't worry mom and dad, we have numerous fun volunteer activities for adults as well!

If you have an interest, you can sign up with us and pick the areas where you think you can make a difference. In the EVENT LISTING AND REGISTRATION section to the right you can see the current volunteer opportunities and how many of each time slot we need to fill.

To volunteer, just click the 'Sign In To Manage Your Profile' button at the bottom of the form (you might need to scroll down if there are many opportunities open). If you are not already registered with our volunteer tracking system you will be directed to do so. Otherwise, enter your login information for the CERVIS system and then you can start volunteering!

Please see volunteer documents below and bring completed forms to training or otherwise deliver to Nightmare staff. Returning volunteers - please note, all required forms must be completed each year.

Required for all volunteers 17 years old and under

ALL volunteers must read the Volunteer Handbook thoroughly. By signing your application, you are acknowledging that you (and a parent or guardian if under 18) have read and understand the Volunteer Handbook.

The Actor Handbook is a supplement to the Volunteer Handbook. By signing your application, you are acknowledging that you (and a parent or guardian if under 18) have read and understand. As an actor you are responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with all rules and regulations set forth in both of the Nightmare at Beaver Lake Handbooks.

NIGHTLY DURING SHOW: Everyone must sign in at the Volunteer Table(s) in the lodge upon arrival. Volunteers 17 years old and younger must adhere to the following guidelines. No exceptions, thank you!

· 14 and 15 year olds must have a parent/guardian come into the lodge each night to sign them in and out.

· 16 and 17 year olds may sign themselves in and out ONLY if the Youth Log-in Sheet has been signed by a parent/guardian.

NOTE: if any minor does not sign out or is not signed out by a parent/guardian (depending on age) at the end of the evening, the parent/guardian will be called.

CONSTRUCTION AND TEAR DOWN: Volunteering for Construction, Set Design, and Tear down requires the same set of rules as stated above, plus the additional rules stated below.

All volunteers must sign up for their desired time slot on CERVIS 24 hours prior to volunteering. For safety and time management reasons, we need to know exactly who is coming and when! The construction team leader may contact you to assess skills, preferences and communicate additional instructions. If you do not sign up prior to volunteering, you may be turned away.

Sign In/ Out Procedures

During daylight hours sign in at the volunteer table under the pop up tent located in front of pavilion. After 5pm, sign in/sign out book will be in “Ops Trailer” in woods. If no one is at the pop up tent or the trailer, call team leader via cell phone. Phone numbers will be posted at the pop up tent or in the ops trailer.

Haunted Happenings

Haunted Happenings - Nightmare at Beaver Lake Newsletter - Spring 2017

This indoor/outdoor haunted house experience is 100% volunteer produced, provides hundreds of hours of volunteer opportunities for local youth, and raises money for community charities. Thank you to all our volunteers who work so hard and have fun to make this happen – we couldn’t do it without you!

A HUGE special thank you to our nearly SIXTY volunteers who helped us ROCK Crypticon Seattle 2017! Be on the lookout for more Crypticon volunteer opportunities in 2018!

Scare Productions would also like to thank everyone who signed up for our second annual Tom Gonser Memorial Blood Drive! Once again, it was a huge success! We were able to collect 29 units of blood, which has a potential of saving 87 lives! Just amazing!
