Q. What exactly is Nightmare at Beaver Lake?

It's a haunted trail through the woods that leads you to a haunted house. It's a non-profit event run solely by volunteers.

Q. What's changed from the 2010 season?

Almost all of the sets will be new or changed this season.

Q. Does this event benefit anyone?

As a non-profit event, The Rotary Club of Sammamish donates the proceeds toward many community service and humanitarian projects.

Q. Is it scary for kids?

From 7-7:45pm we have a less intense Family Scare. Many people without kids also attend at this time. Please remember that our haunt is a long walk through the dark woods....with monsters.

Many kids attend after 8pm as well, but the trail becomes more frightening.

Q. Are there refunds if...?

Once you have paid to enter we hope that you enjoy the entire experience. However, if you have to leave for any reason there will be no refunds.

Q. What happens if it rains?

We're open rain or dry, but most of the walk is outdoors on a forest trail. Please wear sturdy shoes as the trail may be muddy.

Q. Is the trail safe?

The trail can be uneven and contains twists and turns, however for the most part it is relatively flat and wide. Security staff is present throughout the haunt if you find yourself needing assistance.

Q. Are there any discounts?

$1-off if you bring a can of food for Eastside Domestic Violence Program. Each person needs their own can for the discount.

Q. Is there a child-discounted fare?

No, though children under 36" can get in for free. Guests trying to buy a ticket on their knees will be mocked.

Q. Do you accept checks or debit/credit cards?

No, but you can purchase tickets online via Brown Paper Tickets in October (service charge applies). Only cash will be accepted at the ticket booth and concessions stands.

Q. Do you have food for sale?

Yes, there is kettlecorn for sale.

Q. Do you have bathrooms?

Yes, there are bathrooms at the ticket booth and bathrooms after you exit the haunt.

Q. Is the trail handicapped accessible?

Most of Nightmare is an outdoor trail with the occasional incline. We try to be as handicapped accessible as possible, and wheelchairs do come through our haunt each year. If you have any concerns or think you may need assistance feel free to contact us directly.

Q. What's the deal with parking?

Most patrons will be directed to the lot near the ball fields, and at the end of the haunt a free shuttle will drop them back at that lot. However, on very busy nights you may be directed to an offsite lot, and a free shuttle will bring you to the ticket booth. At the end of the haunt you will ride a free shuttle back to the lot in which you parked.

There is no pickup at the end of the haunt, only shuttles.

Q. Can I bring a flashlight, cell phone, camera, or video camera?

We know you're going to bring phones, but we ask that you turn them off while in the haunt and not use them as cameras.

We cannot look for lost phones or pagers while the event is operating. If we happen to find something, it will be available at the ticket window the next night we are open.

NO flashlights.

NO photography or video taping. Our ghouls are camera shy.

Q. How about masks or costumes?

Costumes are fine. NO masks and NO full body camouflage...NO exceptions!

Q. Will the monsters touch me?

They try not to, but occasionally something might brush against you.

Q. Can we touch the monsters?

Touching the monsters makes our security staff angry...and you wouldn't like them when they're angry. If a patron needs to be removed by security then that patron's entire party will also have to be removed.

Q. I had a great question and it's not listed here. What's the big idea?

You can ask just about anything you want, though questions involving weight, age and criminal backgrounds will not be answered truthfully.
